- There are 536 past or present hospitalizations (+16). In the newest cases (tested July 7 through July 21), ages range from 1 to 92 years with the median age being 37. All deaths to date are of individuals ranging in age from 23-103, with 84 being the median age of those who have died.
- VoteSafe Pennsylvania begins effort to educate voters on how to safely cast ballots in Nov.: VoteSafe Pennsylvania, a coalition that launched a statewide campaign on Tuesday, will run an educational campaign on voting safely, whether in person or via vote-by-mail, as well as advocate for more federal resources to counties to ensure safe, secure, accessible and timely voting and results. - Pennsylvania health department looking to hire more contact tracers, nurses: State health officials said Wednesday that they are looking to hire more contact tracers and nurses to better control the coronavirus and prepare for any potential surges in COVID-19 cases. Contact tracing is the process of identifying, notifying and monitoring anyone who came in close contact with an individual who tested positive for COVID-19 while they were infectious, state officials said. - U.S. Government Engages Pfizer to Produce Millions of Doses of COVID-19 Vaccine: The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Defense (DoD) announced an agreement with U.S.-based Pfizer Inc. for large-scale production and nationwide delivery of 100 million doses of a COVID-19 vaccine in the United States following the vaccine’s successful manufacture and approval. The agreement also allows the U.S. government to acquire an additional 500 million doses.
