- Department of Health Provides Update on COVID-19, 1,470 Positives Bring Statewide Total to 12,980
- Harrisburg, PA-The Pennsylvania Department of Health today confirmed as of 12:00 a.m., April 6, that there are 1,470 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 12,980 in 65 counties. 598 are healthcare workers; 518 are long-term living facilities. 613 have been hospitalized or 12 % of total cases. The department also reported 12 new deaths among positive cases, bringing the statewide total to 162, all of whom are adults. There are 70,874 patients who have tested negative to date. Of the patients who have tested positive to date the age breakdown is as follows:
- Less than 1% are aged 0-4;
- Nearly 1% are aged 5-12;
- 1% are aged 13-18;
- 7% are aged 19-24;
- Nearly 42% are aged 25-49;
- 29% are aged 50-64; and
- Nearly 20% are aged 65 or older.
- As of 12 pm on Monday, April 6, 2020, 51% hospital beds, 40% ICU beds and 70% ventilators are still available

Gov. Wolf
- We are continuing to see a growth in the number of cases; the surge is coming and when and how it occurs depends on all of us.
- On Saturday, April 4, we created the Pennsylvania Manufacturing Call to Action Portal to mobilize manufacturers who do or can provide public health supplies, to form a supply chain of needed equipment. We are asking all manufacturers to go on the dced.pa.gov to report their supply chain capabilities. The portal is a joint effort with DCED, the Pennsylvania Manufacturers Association, the Pennsylvania Chemical Industry Council, the Pennsylvania Chamber on Business & Industry as well other others

Federal Reserve Bank:
- The Federal Reserve will provide a backstop to banks making loans to small businesses via a new lending facility where asset are PPP loans. Effect will be banks will be able to make loans without concern for leverage ratio limits. This is to encourage banks to offer loans to businesses seeking funds.
