THE CRITERIA
Nominees for the ATHENA Award must meet each of the following three criteria:
- Demonstrate excellence, creativity, and initiative in her business or profession
State the nominees’ business or professional accomplishments, special projects or recognitions that have furthered her career. Include business affiliations, mentorship roles, professional memberships, etc.
- Provide valuable service by contributing time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community
List local, state, national and international level participation. Include length of service and offices held in civic and service organizations such as charitable activities, political pursuits, religious groups, chambers of commerce, merchants’ associations, etc.
- Actively assist women in realizing their full leadership potential
Provide specific examples of how the nominee has assisted women in reaching their full leadership potential, and/or demonstrated support for their professional advancement.
Please use the form below to copy and paste information on the nominee – which might consist of a listing of awards or honors received, and/or publications or articles supporting service to her profession, industry or community. Nominations with incomplete information or that exceed three pages in length will not be accepted.
Nominations must be received by 5 p.m. on Monday, June 30, 2008 by the Allegheny Conference on Community Development.
