The ATHENA Award is recognized internationally as the premier honor for excellence in leadership among business, professional and community leaders.

The 19th Annual Greater Pittsburgh ATHENA Award Program, presented by the Allegheny Conference on Community Development, will take place on Monday, September 21 from Noon - 1:30 p.m. at the Westin Convention Center hotel.  Nominate an extraordinary woman leader in your life today. 

The 2008 luncheon drew more than 800 attendees, affirming the status of Pittsburgh's ATHENA Award Program among the largest stand-alone events of its kind - with 500+ communities presenting the award across the globe each year. 

The ATHENA Award recognizes women in our community who:

• Demonstrate excellence, creativity and initiative in their business profession
• Contribute time and energy to improving the quality of life for others in the community
• Actively assist women in realizing their full leadership potential

It is the program's explicit focus on the importance of mentorship that distinguishes the ATHENA Award among other honors for women in business.
